What you give doesn't get spent. It gets lent, and lent again.
A donation here is not spent once. It goes out as a loan, comes back a month or two later, and goes out again to the next mother who calls. Nobody draws a salary from it on the way past.

Why monthly helps most
A fund that knows what next month holds can say yes faster.
One-off gifts are what get us through a hard December. Standing monthly gifts are what let a volunteer say “yes, today” on a Tuesday evening without first checking the balance.
A standing gift of any size does this. It is the reliability rather than the amount that changes what a volunteer can promise on the phone.

We would rather answer these than have you wonder.
How much of my donation reaches a mother?
Effectively all of it. Nobody here draws a salary, we hold no office, and nothing is added to a loan. What little the fund spends goes on the gatherings themselves: a hall, the food, and childcare so mothers can actually attend.
Will I get a tax receipt?
Yes. Ask for one when you give, or write to us afterwards at moms4momscalgary@gmail.com and we will send it.
Can I give something other than money?
Yes, often. Furniture, a working car, winter clothing in good condition, or a professional service you could offer for free. Tell us what you have before sending anything, so it goes somewhere it is actually needed.
Can I direct my donation to a particular family?
We'd rather you didn't, and it's a kindness to the family. Money that goes into the shared fund arrives without anyone having to be singled out for it.
Can I cancel a monthly gift?
